We got up around 5:30, much earlier than usual, because J was going to go up to Fort Collins to take her daughter to a doctor's appointment related to her recent arthroscopic knee surgery. J left around 6:00 and I had my usual breakfast. Then I finished putting away my laundry from yesterday. I left around 7:15 and ...

Walked around the neighborhood to get a little exercise.

I returned to the RV around 7:45 and set up an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) for the faulty iStarUSA v7AGE220-SAU hard drive enclosure. Then I packed it up and created a FedEx label for it. I prepped the RV to move and left just in time to make it ...

To Extreme Auto in Parker for our 10:00 appointment to get an oil change and to have the steering damper replaced. I brought my MacBook Pro into the waiting area and went online through the Verizon Wireless Broadband Access signal. I upped my maximum bids on the snipes I set up for some Apple Magic Mouse auctions because they are going for lot more than I thought they were. Then I worked up a blog entry. The RV was ready shortly after I finished the blog entry — perfect timing. I left at 11:35.

The RV ran much nicer, I think because they checked and corrected the tire pressure. I'm pretty sure some of the tires had been a bit low, and it was rolling much better now.

I went to the FedEx Office location to drop off the iStarUSA v7AGE220-SAU hard drive enclosure.

Then I went to my storage unit to drop off the printer and paper, etc. I had my regular lunch while I was there too. I left around 1:00.

I stopped at Distillery Liquors to pick up some wine for dinner because what I thought was a bottle of chardonnay in the RV turned out to be a bottle of white zinfandel, and I didn't feel right inflicting it upon sharing it with E&SilJ.

I listened to an episode of Car Talk while driving north on I-25.

J's Chili Crusted Pork

  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 3 tbs chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 4 tbs brown sugar
  • 1-1/2 lb. sliced, boneless pork loins
  1. Preheat grill for medium-high heat.
  2. In a quart-size Zip-Loc bag, mix the onion powder, garlic powder, chipotle chile powder, sea salt, and brown sugar to make a dry rub. Pour the mixture out onto a plate or saran wrap.
  3. Coat the outside, round edges of the meat evenly with the dry rub. Refrigerate for 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. Grill for 20 minutes, turning meat every 5 minutes.

I stopped at RV America in Loveland around 2:30 to see if they had a replacement drawer latch and they didn't. The latch for the lowest drawer in our kitchen is broken, so after opening and closing the drawer a few times, the latch actually prevents the drawer from closing instead of holding it closed, and we have to manually reset the latch. I picked up a bottle of Unique RV Digest-It bacterial holding tank treatment while I was there.

I got off of I-25 on CO-14 heading east by mistake. I've done that before and I thought to myself that I should be sure to get on CO-14 heading west, and somehow I ended up heading east. It was easier to turn around with just the RV instead with the RV towing the Jeep like the first time.

I went to the Poudre Valley CoOp around 3:00 to dump, take on fresh water, and load up on propane.

I reached E&SilJ's (J's daughter E and son-in-law J's) place around 3:55. We all hung out for a while then E prepared some smoked salmon, capers, and horseradish to put on an assortment of crackers that we supplied, and it was very tasty. E's friend D came over and hung out for a while, and he helped me start up their charcoal grill. J prepared a batch of Grilled Cheesy Potatoes, a batch of Grilled Squash, and some of her Chili Crusted Pork then I grilled it all. SilJ came home while I was grilling and ...

We ate dinner around 8:10. The pork was delicious and the potatoes and squash were good as always. The Columbia Crest Grand Estates Merlot went well with the meal.

We returned to the RV around 10:20, checked our email, then went to bed.
