January 2, 2010, a Saturday
Parker (K), Colorado, USA
— Sat at The Majestic Gallery
Had breakfast including New Orleans Style Coffee with Chicory from Lucile's. I continued looking at macerator information because J didn't think the Handi-Hose would be good because she remembered reading about the poo getting stuck on the woven liner of flat hoses. I finally found a mention that it's bad to use cloth fire hoses to dump through because the poo gets stuck to the liner, but a flat hose designed for marine or RV fresh water applications, such as the Handi-Hose should work just fine.
I opened up my new (new to me that is) Canon REALiS SX80 digital projector. (You may read more about the Canon SX80 on my blog entry for November 16, 2009.) The projector had been shipped in the original box, but I was shocked that it didn't have the original Styrofoam packing to protect the projector. The projector was only protected by the padded case, a thin layer of bubble wrap on the bottom with the case right on it, and some newspaper filling up the sides and top. Fortunately, the projector looked OK, and seemed to project images OK. I only did a quick test and didn't really evaluate color accuracy, but the images looked good enough so that I wouldn't have to send it back.
I packed up the Jeep with things to take to my storage unit, including the SX80 box and projector, and left in the Jeep around 9:45 by myself.
I dropped off the items at my storage unit, then headed up to Idaho Springs, Colorado.
I reached The Majestic Gallery in Idaho Springs, Colorado, around 10:50, in plenty of time for the 11:00 opening time. The Majestic Gallery is a co-op gallery where I display some of my work, and each of the 33 members sit at the gallery once a month to "run the store." I was planning to call some members to see if I could take their spots in February and March because I wouldn't be able to sit then, and all of the spots through April were already filled. :) Because I didn't want to shirk my responsibility, I called a member who was sitting in April to take her place and give her the month off. I worked up a blog entry and did some computer work between "getting interrupted" by customers who wanted to buy something. :) It snowed heavily from about 12:30 to 1:30, then the sky cleared and the snow melted — typical Colorado winter weather. I left shortly after closing up the gallery at 5:00.
I stopped at the Lukas Liquor Superstore, near the Park Meadows Mall, to pick up some supplies, and they were out. :(
I went to the nearby Home Depot to pick up a fitting to use with the macerator. If we don't have a fresh water source when we dump using the macerator, then we'll be able to use this fitting to get fresh water from our outside shower.
I returned to the RV around 6:25.
We had dinner around 6:35 of leftover Trader Joe's ravioli and green beans. We had some cheesecake for dessert.
I polished the blog entry and took it live. Then I finished up the computer work I had started earlier.
