August 19, 2010, a Thursday
Parker (K2), Colorado, USA
— Printed images and went to the Parker Library
We got out of bed around 6:30, and it was a balmy 64°F (18°C) outside. After I had my normal breakfast, I set up my Epson R2880 printer and replaced the almost-empty Photo Black ink cartridge in it. Then I did an Auto Nozzle Check and Clean, and that cleaned everything out. (You might remember that on July 27, 2010 the Cyan nozzle was clogged and I couldn't continue the nozzle cleaning process because the Photo Black cartridge was too low.) Then I started to print a 12x18, four 8x12, and four 5x7.5 prints on the 13x19 Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster (formerly Epson Premium Luster). Two 8x12 or four 5x7.5 prints fit on a single piece of 13x19 paper, and those four sheets of 13x19 paper filled my drying rack, aka the dinette table. J had left around 9:45 to run errands, and I finished printing around 10:15. I downloaded the images I took yesterday then downselected them first in iView then in Capture One (C1). Then I started to prepare the images that were selected from my last stock submission.
I had lunch around 11:55 of Clif Bars and finished preparing the images that were selected from my last stock submission. I did some computer and J returned around 1:00. I left in the Jeep by myself and ...
Went to the Parker Library around 1:55 to use their free Wi-Fi network. I started to upload the images that were selected from my last stock submission then started to work up a blog entry. The net connection was slow, so after I finished the blog entry, I had some time to kill until the image uploads finished. I looked at some used camera gear on FredMiranda.com, and saw that someone is selling their Nikon AF-S Zoom Nikkor 14-24 f2.8G. I've been thinking about getting a wide-angle lens again after seeing the images I took when I had my 16-35. At one time, I was thinking about getting the Nikon 14-24 and mounting it on my Canon 1Ds M III using a Nikon G to Canon EF Adaptor adaptor from 16:9 because the lens is incredibly sharp. I'm currently leaning towards the Canon TS-E 17mm f/4L tilt-shift lens instead of the rumored Canon 14-24 because I really like the tilt and shift functions. The uploads to my stock agent finally finished around 3:45 and I started to upload the high-res version of my image in the semi-finals to Nature's Best. Transmit, my FTP program, looked like it had stalled, so I force-quit it. After relaunching it, I started to send the high-res file over again, and Transmit estimated that it would take about 20 minutes to get the file there. After it finished sending the file, it started sending it again — aaahhhh! I think it somehow it had remembered that it was in the middle of sending the file when I force-quit it and it automatically resumed sending the file when I relaunched it. In any event, I got to sit there another 20 minutes for it to load the file again. I finally left around 5:00!
I returned to the RV and did some computer work. We left in the Jeep and ...
Went to Noodles & Company for dinner around 5:50. J had a coupon for buy-one-get-one-free — one of the birthday specials that she's been acquiring. I had Indonesian Peanut Sauté with Chicken and J got Pesto Cavatappi with Tofu. Our waitress spilled J's order when she delivered it, so when she brought a replacement out, she said she'd bring another side of pasta out too. My pasta was OK, and I think I liked J's pasta (sans the tofu) better. We took the side of pasta home with us.
We went to WalMart around 6:25 to pick up some things.
We returned to the RV around 7:35 and I started to print the rest of the images I'll take to the gallery: one 12x18, two 8x10, and two 8x12. I did some computer work while they were printing. It started to rain around 9:00.
