— Dinner with CS and family
I slept in a little this morning — if you measured it by the local time. I got up around my usual body time, and was awake before my mother. I worked up a blog entry while waiting for her. We had a grazing-style breakfast of fresh blueberries, cinnamon-raisin toast, a banana, and OJ. I did some odd jobs for my mother, then called MacMall to get an update on the iPad for my mother. They have only been getting partial shipments from Apple, and they may get enough today to cover my order — hmm.
We went to the dining room for lunch around noon. I had some tasty potato-leek soup then a salad from the salad bar. I had coffee with lunch, and I think that was the first time I've ever had coffee with lunch, but that was my first opportunity to get a dose of caffeine today.
We returned to my mother's apartment and I worked up another blog entry. I looked into changing my return flight incase the iPad will arrive about the time I had been planning to fly back — this Tuesday. Then my mother and I visited for a while.
We went to Applebee's around 5:40 to take my cousin S (CS), her husband S, and their kids L (4) and H (6 months) out to dinner. I had Spicy Shrimp Diavolo and we all split an order of Mozzarella Sticks. There was lots of shrimp and it had a decent kick to it, but there wasn't as much sauce as I've had on similar dishes before. My mother and I split a Triple Chocolate Meltdown for dessert. L asked if my mother and I could come back to their place after dinner, and we could.
We went to CS's and L played mostly with my mother. The funniest part was that L really wanted to paint with watercolors, but he can only paint in the kitchen. So, L painted by himself in the kitchen for a while and the rest of us hung out in the living room. Because L had so much fun with us, he asked if we could come back tomorrow, and we could.
We returned to my mother's apartment around 9:05. I went online to check email, then we went to the puzzle room around 9:20 and started a new puzzle. It's been ages since I've started a new puzzle, and it was a lot of work to get all of the pieces face up.
