October 16, 2009, a Friday
Parker (K) to Idaho Springs (TMG), Colorado, USA
— Sat at The Majestic Gallery
Had my normal breakfast then prepped the RV to move. Hooked up the Jeep to tow, and we departed at 8:45.
We stopped at my storage unit to drop off my Epson Stylus Photo R2880 printer and a box of paper.
We stopped at a Food Mart gas station in Denver to fill up the RV and Jeep with some relatively cheap gas ($2.279/gal).
We stopped at the WalMart in Evergreen to unhook the Jeep so that J could go grocery shopping at the King Soopers in town while I continued on to Idaho Springs to sit at The Majestic Gallery.
I parked the RV near The Majestic Gallery in Idaho Springs, Colorado, around 11:15. I went in and opened up the gallery, then shuttled my stuff to the gallery (matted prints, laptop, Logitech m550 speakers for my iPod, and lunch). I put tags on my new matted prints with a code and price, then put the prints in a bin by my framed work.
The image of South Clear Creek Falls (far left) was taken in July 2007, and this is the first time it's in the gallery as just a matted print. The image was converted to black-and-white in Photoshop, and it looks great printed by the Epson Stylus Photo R2880 on Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster (Premium Luster) with the printer profile provided by Epson. The blacks are really deep, and the grays don't have any visible (non-gray) color to them. The image titled Sunset Wings (near left) was taken in the Bisti Wilderness in March 2009, and this is the first time the image is being displayed in the gallery.
Had lunch of Clif Bars because J hadn't arrived from shopping by the time I was hungry. I did some computer work. Worked up a blog entry. Closed the gallery around 5:00. Prepped the RV to move, and left around 5:05 in the RV.
We went to the City Park in Idaho Springs to use their free dump station. I had called Idaho Springs Public Works earlier, and found out that they had turned off the water in the park, but the friendly woman offered to let us load up on water at the Public Works building.
We went to the Idaho Springs Public Works building around 5:30 to get fresh water for the RV. The office was closed, and the outside faucets were turned off, so we couldn't get any water there. :(
We returned to The Majestic Gallery and parked the RV right behind the gallery — it'll be an easy commute when I have to sit at the gallery tomorrow. :)
We had dinner around 6:05 of a Greek Salad to start followed by some of J's just-made Chicken Tortilla Soup based on her daughter E's recipe. It was delicious, and I think it's my favorite soup that J makes! I did the dishes, then helped J package up the leftover soup to be frozen, then washed the remaining dishes.
I had some Asbach Uralt while working up a blog entry, then did some computer work.
