We got up around our normal time despite getting to bed much later than usual last night. I had my normal breakfast. The coffee from the Toddy Cold Brew System is starting to grow on me. One (1) part refrigerated concentrate and two (2) parts near-boiling water, then 20 seconds in the microwave to heat everything up makes a decent cup of coffee. The oddest thing is that my Bodum Bistro Double-Wall Mug still has a chill when I start drinking from it whereas it was warm when I was finally done brewing a cup of coffee using the AeroPress coffee maker. It was cloudy and dull out when we got underway at 9:15 and continued heading south on I-25.

I listened to an episode of Car Talk. We went over Raton Pass (7834 ft or 2388m) and entered New Mexico at 9:34. There was a nice strong tailwind when we reached the bottom. :)

We went to the Post Office in Las Vegas (New Mexico) at 11:30 so J could mail off some items that she had sold on eBay.

We parked on a nearby street around 11:35 to go online and have a break for lunch. I started to work up a blog entry. J didn't like the slow National Access signal, so we left around 12:05 and continued heading south on I-25.

I listened to another episode of Car Talk. After a while, the wind changed direction, and we were were getting a really strong crosswind — no fun at all to drive through.

We stopped at the Phillips 66 gas station in Santo Domingo Pueblo, between Santa Fe and Albuquerque, at 1:35 to fill up the RV at $2.559/gal. This gas station usually has the best price in the Albuquerque/Santa Fe area, and I was surprised that it was even cheaper than what we paid in Pueblo yesterday. It was blowing like crazy as I filled the tank and cleaned the windows. J crawled up into the bunk to rest and we got underway at 1:55.

I listened to another episode of Car Talk. J came down to the cab around 3:40. The clouds darkened and the wind died down as we approached Elephant Butte Lake State Park around 5:00. It started to rain at 5:10.

We went to the WalMart in Truth or Consequences (T or C) at 5:15 to pick up a few things. We left around 5:40.

We reached Caballo Lake State Park at 6:05 and drove to the Riverside Campground which is below the dam. We saw a nice pull-through site that was open and had the electrical box covered with a plastic bag. We asked the Camp Host if we could take the "defective" site and only pay the non-electric fee (free to us with our New Mexico State Parks Pass), and he said sure — what a deal. Ordinarily, a pull-through site isn't that interesting, but I was particularly interested in getting one tonight so we wouldn't have to unhook the Jeep since we were only going to spend one night here. We had a nice fast Verizon Wireless Broadband Access signal.

We had dinner around 6:35 of a Wanchai Ferry Kung Pao Chicken bag meal, and J used our new Galleyware 12-pc. Non-Stick Cookware Set for the first time. J said the cookware worked great, and I loved the chicken. Kung Pao Chicken is what I usually get when I go to a new Chinese restaurant for the first time, and this one was really tasty. J even liked it. :) J also did the dishes, even though she cooked, because I had been driving all day.

After dinner, I finished the blog entry and did some things online. We went to bed around 10:00 — much better than the late night last night.
