August 9, 2010, a Monday
near Red Feather Lakes, Colorado, USA
— Photographed hummingbirds and processed images
I got up later than usual and it was raining lightly. When J got up, the rain had stopped, and I considered going out to photograph the hummingbirds, but the clouds looked like there would be more rain later. I fixed myself a big breakfast of scrambled eggs, potatoes, OJ, and coffee. I left around 10:10 and ...

Walked up and then down the main road near our boondocking spot to get some exercise.

I returned around 10:55 and J was out walking near our boondocking spot. I processed an image for the blog then started to work up a blog entry.

I had lunch around 1:00 as it started to rain of a Clif Bar while finishing the blog entry. Then I had a banana and an apple while reading more of the August 2010 Outdoor Photographer. I placed some orders to get additional parts for my hummingbird flash setup from FlashZebra.com (PC cords and such), DrillSpot.com (1/4-20 knobs), and Thomas Distributing (rechargable AA and AAA batteries and a charger). Then I called a Denver-area Fastenal dealer to order some different 1/4-20 knobs. Then I selected some images to print and then placed an order with Documounts for some frame and mat sets for those images so I can take them to The Majestic Gallery. Then I processed some images for a stock submission.

We had dinner around 6:10 of leftover pork tenderloin, broccoli, and watermelon.

I prepped the hummingbird setup then went out around 7:00 to photograph the hummingbirds. I was hoping to photograph one of the male Broad-Tailed Hummingbirds that had been coming to our feeders at the RV, but only females came. I was able to get some nice images thought. I packed up the setup after a gust of wind blew over the light stand that was holding the background. It must have been a big gust because the light stand had been weighted down with my filled Molar Bean Bag which weighs about 10 lb (4.5kg).

I returned to the RV around 8:55 then downloaded and downselected the images I took. My items sold on eBay, mostly for decent prices. I processed images for a stock submission, and finished the additional images that I needed to make up my normal submission. When I synced my Palm before going to bed, the sync failed. When I synced it again, I ended up with duplicate entries in my Address Book and Notebook. :(
