I got up before J and worked on a blog entry and did some computer work before she got out of bed. I had my usual breakfast then filled the hummingbird feeders at the RV because they were empty. One hummingbird was so excited to see me bring out a feeder with food in it that it started feeding while I was still holding the feeder! Pretty cool! Then I finished the blog entry and looked into parts to make my hummingbird flash photography setup more robust.

I had lunch around 12:30 and passed on my usual ham-and-Swiss sandwich because the slimy ham wasn't appealing. Instead, I cut up some Columbus dry salami, that we picked up quite a while ago at Trader Joe's, to eat as chunks with mustard on them and supplemented that with two slices of Swiss cheese (minus the edges with mold on them) and two slices of Earth Grains 7-Grain bread. The salami tasted fine even though it had a best-by date of July 5, 2010. :) I looked at more parts for the hummingbird flash photography setup. J went out around 2:15 to photograph things, and I processed images for a stock submission. It started raining around 3:00, and J came in around 4:25 after it started to rain really hard. We had dinner around 6:10 of steak fajitas.

I went out at 7:40 to photograph wildflowers because the wind was calm and the cloud layer was creating some nice diffuse light. I was distracted from pure wildflower photography by a American Bumble Bee resting on a Standing Milkvetch bloom (below left). Then I turned my attention to a nice Pineywoods Geranium bloom (below right). It was getting quite dark, so I couldn't photograph any of the other nice wildflowers near our campsite.


I returned to the RV around 8:20 and downloaded the images I took. We turned on the generator around 8:30 for an hour to charge our house batteries that didn't get enough solar electric charging today. I downselected the images I took then processed images for a stock submission.
