June 1, 2010, a Tuesday
Parker (K2), Colorado, USA
— Had lunch with the grandkids and had dinner out to celebrate our anniversary
I got out of bed shortly before J. I did my exercises and had breakfast while J watched the news on TV. Then she channel surfed and came across an episode of Rick Steves Travels in Europe about London and the surrounding area, and I watched the remainder of the episode. Then I watched an episode of Art Wolfe's Travels to the Edge about the Amazon. I started to work up a blog entry.
We left around 8:30 and walked around the neighborhood.
We returned to the RV around 9:05 and I finished the blog entry. We prepped the RV to move. J left in the Jeep around 10:40 to go to the Parker Library to pick up some items that had been on hold. I left in the RV a few minutes later and ...
Went to SJ&DilK's (J's Son J and Daughter-in-law K's) to dump using our Flojet Macerator Pump. It's so much more convenient when we're in Parker to dump using the macerator than to have to drive to Castle Rock to use the dump station there. GS (granddaughter S, age 3) came out to watch me dump. J arrived and went inside to visit. When I was done, I went inside and briefly visited with GJ (grandson J, age 4.5), GA (grandson A, age 8.5), and DilK. We all left around 11:50 with GA riding with us, and ...
Went to Chick-fil-A for lunch. I think that was the first time I've ever been to a Chick-fil-A, and I thoroughly enjoyed the Chargrilled Chicken Club Sandwich. J had a Chick-n-Strips Salad that she enjoyed too. GS and GJ played in the indoor playground, and we got to visit with DilK and GA. We all left with GJ riding with us.
We went to GJ's preschool to drop him off. The rest of us left with GA riding with us again.
We returned to SJ&DilK's and I started loading up the RV with fresh water. After I was done, DilK left to run some errands and J and I stayed to watch GA and GS. J took a nap on the sofa. DilK returned and we left with J in the Jeep me in the RV.
We returned to our nice parking space in Parker Colorado around 3:30, and it was really warm. Our thermometer said it was 85°F (29°C) outside. I did some computer work then started to pack for my flight to Philadelphia tomorrow. I'm going to fly out to see my mother and help her set up her iPad — if it arrives before I leave. J's going to stay here to relax and to spend time with the grandkids. We left around 5:30 in the Jeep.
We went to Maggiano's Little Italy for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. We hadn't been there in a while, and we were really looking forward to having a nice meal. We split a Veal & Mushroom Ravioli al Forno appetizer then a Mom's Lasagna main — delicious, and plenty of food too! J even liked the Da Vinci Chianti — what a surprise. We split a piece of Tiramisu for dessert, and it came with a special treat for our anniversary — a plate of lemon crescent cookies with a candle in one of them. Their Tiramisu is one of the better ones I've had in the states, and the cookies were tasty too. We had a wonderful time!
