— Toured the Schulmerich Carillons facility
I got up before J and did my best to keep quiet. I went to breakfast around 8:00 and had a cheese omelet, whole-wheat toast, OJ, and coffee. J was up when I returned to the room. I worked up a blog entry then read some more of The Number of the Beast by Robert A. Heinlein. We left around 10:45.

We went to my mother's apartment and visited a bit before we all left and ...

Went to the Peking Wok (Chinese Restaurant) in Sellersville. I had the lunch special King Pao Chicken and J had the lunch special Cashew Chicken. The dishes started out with the same chicken and veggie mixture, but mine had fresh peanuts on top and J's had fresh cashews on top. I think my sauce might have been a bit spicier than J's.

We went to the Schulmerich Carillons facility to take a tour at 1:00. KA, MA, and JA joined us. My mother and I had played handbells in the church where I grew up, and the handbells had been made by Schulmerich. That's not too surprising because only one other company in North America makes handbells. I enjoyed the tour which started with a nice overview of their product line in a demo room, then continued with a detailed description of their handbell manufacturing process in the factory. The gentleman giving the tour was very happy that I could appreciate the problems of porosity and residual stresses in castings, the advantages of having a constant surface speed while machining (turning a bell on a CNC lathe), and some improvements he had made to the manufacturing process. We finished the tour around 2:20 just as a thunderstorm started. We said goodbye to KA and kids and ...

We returned to my mother's apartment. I did some computer work and went online using the Verizon Wireless Broadband signal. We all left and ...

Went to my cousin S's (CS's) and her husband S's place around 5:00. They had a new baby girl, H, this past November, and it was the first time we got to meet her. She was a real cutie who loved the attention we gave her. CS and S also have a son, L (4), who is a real bundle of energy. He loves to be the center of attention, and he's funny and charming. After visiting for a while, we had a wonderful dinner of beef stew and Pepperidge Farm potato rolls. S owns a Pepperidge Farm bread route and said he doesn't sell many of the potato rolls. Neither J nor I could understand why — they were great! After dinner, J gave H a bottle and thoroughly enjoyed it, even after H spat some up. I spent a lot of time with L. I read him some books about trucks and trains, played some games with him, and showed him how to make paper airplanes. We also played with is new Mighty Beanz, something I had never heard of before. I had a great time and so did L. :) We also had some delicious cold-oven pound cake with chopped strawberries and whipped cream for desert. Cold-oven pound cake is a long-time favorite of my mother's side of the family, and I love it.

We drove my mother back to her apartment then ...

Returned to the B&B around 9:25. I worked up a blog entry then surfed the web to wind down before going to bed.
