— Changed plans
Please read my blog entry for yesterday, especially about my stepfather, ELG, so you'll have some important background for this entry.
I had my normal breakfast then prepared the images that my stock agent selected from my last submission. As I was uploading them, I worked up a blog entry. J left around 10:40 to go for a walk and I did some computer work. J returned from her walk.
I had an early lunch around 11:40 of just a ham-and-Swiss sandwhich because I had to leave around 12:05 in the Jeep.
I went to the Colorado Music Institute to take some pictures of their new instructors and to pick up their bios so I can add them to the Colorado Music Institute website.
On my way back, I stopped at my storage unit to pick up some things.
I stopped at the Loaf 'N Jug gas station to fill up the Jeep at $2.609/gal.
I went to the Parker Library to drop off and pick up some things.
I returned to the RV around 2:20 and GS (granddaughter S, age 3) was there. :) J and GS had gone for a short walk while I was gone and had discovered a nice patch of wildflowers nearby that J thought would be a great place to take some pictures of GS. So, after I ate a banana and an apple to finish my lunch, we all went out to take some pictures of GS. J got some great stuff of GS in the flowers, and on the way back I used J's camera to take pictures of J and GS and also of just GS.
When we returned to the RV, my phone, that I had left in the RV, let me know that I had a new voice mail. I checked it, and it was my cousin's wife, KA, with whom I've become great friends. She asked if I would need a ride from the airport because my stepfather, ELG, had died. My mother, and most of my mother's side of the family, lives about 30 miles (50 km) north of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, not too far from where I grew up. I called my mother, and sure enough, ELG had died this morning. She sounded good and let me know about the arrangements for the memorial service, etc, on Tuesday, April 20th. About a week ago, I bought tickets to go back to the Philly area in June, so now I get to change those plans because we'll go back next week. Oddly, last year, we had been planning to go back to the Philly area in May, and my maternal grandmother died in March, so we got to go back early then too. I visited a bit with GS, although my mind wasn't entirely focussed on her. :( Then I got a call from KA. She was planning to call me even before ELG had died because she just got invited to vacation out here beginning on the day we were supposed to fly back from Philly in June! She was quite excited about the trip, especially because we might be able to meet up out here.
J took GS home around 4:20 and I started looking into changing the airline reservations. Then I did some computer work.
We had dinner around 6:20 of the leftovers from Carino's on Tuesday: Spicy Shrimp & Chicken for me and Homemade 16 Layer Lasagna for J. It was good the second time around too. :)
After dinner, I changed the airline reservations and started contacting other relatives near Philly to see when we could visit them while we're out there.
