— Snow, dump, and a grandson's birthday party
We got about 2 inches (5cm) of snow overnight, and it was still coming down. I turned on the power converter without messing with the O2 Cool fan to provide auxiliary cooling, and after a while the cooling fan in the power converter came on. I worked up a blog entry, then prepped the inside of the RV to move. I went outside around 11:05 to start cleaning the snow off the roof of the RV. J left in the Jeep to run some errands. I left around 11:30 in the RV.
I went to the Shell gas station in Franktown to get propane for the RV. The person who filled the tank was incompetent. It took him about five tries to get the hose connected to our tank without a leak. About 0.5 gal (2l) of propane was pumped, most of it into the atmosphere I think, before he got the hose connected properly. He balked when I asked him to reset the meter because I didn't want to buy the propane that he vented. After he filled the tank, I'm pretty sure the meter said 14.6 gal (55.3l), and I was charged for 14.8 gal (56l), maybe to make up for my "rudeness" earlier.
I went to the Town of Castle Rock Public Works building around 12:22 to use their free dump station.
I had some Clif Bars for lunch on my way ...
To the Lukas Liquor Superstore, near the Park Meadows Mall, around 1:05. I picked up a bottle of Asbach Uralt.
I went to SJ&DilK's (J's Son J and Daughter-in-law K's) where I was to meet up with J. I plugged into electricity because we were going to park there for a while and wouldn't get much solar-electricity through the cloud cover and with snow-covered solar-electric panels, plus our house batteries were still low. Then I started filling up the RV fresh water tank and started another load of laundry. J had started a load earlier and then left to run other errands. When I finished loading up on water and went into the RV, I was surprised that the power converter wasn't putting out much power. :( J arrived around 2:10. We went online through the fast Wi-Fi network, and J started the final push to upload the remaining content of her website to her new host.
We went inside around 3:10 for GA's (grandson A's, age 8) birthday party. It was a small family affair. DilK had baked a delicious cake and had decorated it like a baseball field using green icing for the grass, no icing for the dirt, and white icing for the lines and bases. She's good at creative things like that.
We returned to the RV around 5:00 and continued to take advantage of the fast Wi-Fi connection.
I made dinner of Bertolli Chicken Florentine & Farfalle and we finished off the baguette from Trader Joe's with some olive oil, balsamic vinegar, cracked pepper, and minced garlic that I threw together.
I took advantage of the fast Wi-Fi connection to look for a case, or cases, to hold the four light stands to make them easier to carry and also to protect them while in storage and bouncing around in the RV. We left around 8:30 and ...
Returned to K's. Instead of messing with the Lynx Levelers, we parked with our passenger-side wheels up on the sidewalk, and that was perfect. J got that idea after seeing a fifth-wheel trailer parked like that two days ago just up the street from where we are. I was dubious, but it was a lot easier than messing with the Lynx Levelers with 4-5 in (10-13cm) of snow on the ground. We'll see how long we can go like that without a knock on the door. I had some Asbach Uralt while doing some computer work. I also helped J take her website live on her new host.
