Albuquerque (Sandia Casino) to Sugarite Canyon State Park (Lake Alice), New Mexico, USA
— Headed north
We took it easy this morning. I had my normal breakfast and we left around 9:40.
We stopped in Santo Domingo Pueblo around 10:10 to fill up the RV. The pump had shut off yesterday at a dollar value, and I didn't run another credit card transaction to fill it up because I thought it was almost full. It wasn't as full as I thought, so we stopped in Santo Domingo Pueblo to fill up the RV gas tank at $2.489/gal, about as cheap as it'll be until we reach Colorado.
We stopped at a McDonald's in Santa Fe at 11:03. J didn't want to go online through their Wi-Fi network, so I just checked my email through my Verizon Wireless stick then started to downselect images from yesterday in Capture One (C1). We were parked on a slope, so sitting at my desk was uncomfortable. We left at 11:35.
I had Clif Bars for lunch: Chocolate Peanut Crunch, Oatmeal Raisin Walnut, and Blueberry Crisp. That was the first Blueberry Crisp Clif Bar I had had, and it was tasty. I picked it up at Trader Joe's yesterday, along with a dozen of my regular Cool Mint Chocolate, because they had a good price on those flavors. (The Chocolate Peanut Crunch and Oatmeal Raisin Walnut are cheaper at WalMart.) I listened to two episodes of Car Talk.
We stopped at the McDonald's in Raton at 2:40. J went online through their Wi-Fi network, and I resumed downselecting images from yesterday in Capture One (C1). J also went inside and got some take-away. We left around 4:15.
We reached Sugarite Canyon State Park at 4:25, and reached the Lake Alice Campground at 4:30. We took Site 5, an electric site, so that we could run our computers without having to worry about our house battery level. Before connecting to the electricity, I turned off the power converter (converts 110VAC to 12VDC) so it wouldn't run and require supplemental cooling from the O2 Cool fan. I had dinner of lunch stuff because J wasn't hungry. I had a glass of the Charles Shaw Merlot and did some computer work. I finished downselecting images from yesterday in Capture One (C1), then processed four images for the blog. I started working up a blog entry before going to bed.

Just yesterday used my Trader Joe's wine tote that you guys gave us last Christmas. This summer a liquor store in FC posted on its sign "2-buck Chuck", so we pulled in right away, wondering whether TJs had come to Colorado. No. Apparently "2-buck Chuck" now refers to any budget wine? |

Very interesting, ottmarrohe. I've never heard of "Two Buck Chuck" in any other context than Trader Joe's. Did the wine have anything to do with a "Charles" in any way? |
