There was about 2 inches (5cm) of snow on the ground when we got out of bed and it was still snowing. I had my normal breakfast, showered, then prepared the selects for the stock submission. I usually send 200 images for my stock agent to review, and he lets me know which images he'd like to represent — the "selects." This time he selected 74 images, so I converted the 16-bit, layered Photoshop files in ProPhoto color space into 8-bit flattened TIFF files in Adobe 1998 color space using an action in batch mode. Most of the selects were from our October 2007 trip to the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya, including the lion cub below left. He also selected some from our November 2008 visit to the Sonny Bono Salton Sea National Wildlife Refuge in California. The backlit short-billed dowitcher at sunset (below right) is different from most of my images.


I went out and cleaned the 3 inches (8cm) of snow off of the Jeep, then we left around 10:45 in the Jeep.

We picked up J's father F in Denver to take him to lunch at ...

Ted's Montana Grill. J had coupons so we could all get a free meal from their $8 lunch menu. We all got the Fresh Cedar Plank Salmon. The salmon was good, but the portion was small. We couldn't complain too much, though, because it was free! We stayed and visited for a while after we finished eating.

We went back to F's place, and J took some things in to store and got some things out of storage while I shoveled F's driveway. Then we visited some more before we left.

We returned to the RV around 2:45. I burned DVDs for the stock submission and prepared a FedEx shipment for them. I left at 4:03 in the Jeep.

I went to the nearby FedEx Kinko's to drop off the package, and the roads were slippery because the temperature had dropped since noon. The normal pickup time is 6:00 pm, but because of the snow the pickup time was 4:00. Fortunately, the driver hadn't arrived by the time I dropped off my package.

I returned to the RV and worked up some blog entries. I sent the winner of my Canon EOS 1Ds Mk II a message asking what his plans were to complete the eBay transaction because I haven't received payment for it yet and the auction ended late Saturday afternoon. The winner responded that he had asked me two questions and hadn't heard back from me, but he would pay as soon I answered him. I had answered him, so I think I'm getting yanked round! I answered his question and didn't mention my previous answers. I was ticked!

We had dinner around 6:25 of the leftovers from Carino's Italian restaurant: Homemade Baked Lasagna and Spicy Shrimp & Chicken.

J poured some vinegar in the toilet to see if that would dissolve some mineral deposits that might be preventing the drain seal from sealing for the last few days. I did some computer work before going to bed.
