October 2, 2010, a Saturday
Uinta National Forest, Utah, USA
— Photographed sunset
I got up earlier than usual and my back was doing much better. I had my usual breakfast then processed an image for the blog. I opened up a personal and a business savings account at ING Direct because they have a higher interest rate than the money market account I had been using for years.
I had lunch around 12:05 and finished reading the September Outdoor Photographer. J and I talked about travel plans for the next month. I did some things online then started to drain the coffee concentrate from the Toddy Cold Brew System around 4:00. We left in the Jeep around 4:45.
We headed over to Silver Lake near Brighton to see if the clouds that were overhead would be good to photograph from there. They weren't, and the sun had already set too much to get all of the lake in the sun, but there was a good sized bull moose lying down out in the tall grass. I switched camera gear, then we both waited for the moose to stand up. We waited and waited. A bride and groom was getting their pictures taken on the other side of the lake. One group of people that was walking around the lake stopped to chat with me, and I learned that the guy's mother, who was with them, was originally from South Africa. We chatted for a long time, and it was the most interesting thing to happen at the lake. We left when the light level was getting low and the moose was still lying down.
We photographed some nice pink/purple clouds on the south side of Guardsman Pass, and we got there just in time to take a few images before the color started to fade.
We returned to the Jeep around 7:15 and J started cooking dinner. I downloaded the images I took and downselected them.
We had dinner around 7:35 of leftover pasta sauce over fresh pasta and corn.
After dinner, I did some computer work and processed an image for the blog.
