I got up and had my normal breakfast. J left in the Jeep around 7:10, without having her usual morning tea, to go to the 9 Health Fair sponsored by the Denver 9News. I tried to install new firmware in one of my Sans Digital TowerStor TS2UT external hard drive enclosure to let it work with 2TB hard drives, and I was having a hard time getting the Windows-based interface working in Parallels on my Mac. J returned around 8:40 and suggested that I could use a Mac-based interface that was available directly from Silicon Image — brilliant idea! Silicon Image makes the controller chip in the enclosure, and J had updated the firmware in her very similar iStarUSA v7AGE220-SAU enclosure a few months ago. I got the Mac-based interface working, but after I installed the new firmware, the enclosure didn't recognize any hard drives installed in it. :( The firmware that I installed (v1.1589) was something J got directly from iStarUSA, and it was "newer" than the highest-version firmware on the Silicon Image website (v1.1576). So, I installed v1.1576, and the enclosure still didn't recognize any hard drives. :( I installed v1.1516, which is where I started, and the enclosure still didn't recognize any hard drives. :( So, I think I'm going to have to buy two of the iStarUSA enclosures to replace the two TowerStor enclosures. :( Fortunately, I only tried installing the firmware in one of my Sans Digital TowerStor TS2UT, so in the meantime I can continue to use the other one to access the data on my 500GB and 1TB hard drives.

I processed the images I took at the Colorado Music Institute and updated their website to have the new instructors.

I had lunch around noon and read through the rest of the April Outdoor Photographer. I processed images for a stock submission, and J left around 1:40 to take the Jeep to get new tires at Discount Tires. J returned around 3:55, and we left in the Jeep around 4:00.

I was surprised to see a set of Michelin LTX A/T2 tires on the Jeep. We had been planning to replace the set of BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO tires with the same kind of tires, but Discount Tire didn't have them in stock like they said they did, so we ended up with the Michelins. The Michelins look a lot smaller than the BF Goodriches, I think because the tread at the sides doesn't stick out as far. The Michelins are a lot quieter and give a smoother ride though. We'll how they work long term and while four-wheeling.

We went to the REI near Park Meadows Mall so I could pick up some things I had had shipped there and so J could try on hiking pants. She can no longer find the style of hiking pants that she has been wearing for years, so it's time to find something new. She found the The North Face Women's Paramount Peak Convertible Pants to be the best option.

Then we went to the Timberland store in the Castle Rock Outlet Mall to look for new shoes for me. I've been wearing various styles of Timberland shoes for years, and the Timberland Torrance Oxford shoes that I had been wearing most recently had started to hurt my feet. It had gotten so bad that I had stopped wearing them and instead wore my Merrell Jungle Mocs around the RV and for short outings and my Vasque Summit GTX Hiking boots for all other serious walking. The Vasque boots aren't very stylish, and I wanted a regular pair of shoes again. I found a pair of Timberland Stormbuck Oxford shoes in my size, and the price was great — $29.99!

We returned to the RV around 6:10 and J made dinner.

We had dinner of J's Shrimp Scampi over rice pilaf.

After dinner, I processed a few images for a stock submission then called my mother. When we were done, I returned to processing images for a stock submission. Two of my favorite images I processed today are the Ring-Tailed Lemur in the Denver Zoo (below left) and Lower Falls in Hocking Hills State Park, Ohio (below right). We stopped at Hocking Hills State Park on our way back from picking up the RV near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
