— Christmas
It was 19°F (-7°C) at 8:00. J and I exchanged gifts. J gave me a Cabela's gift card (I can't wait to get some clothes), and I gave J a PT-04TM wireless transmitter/receiver (turns out she has wanted a wireless flash trigger) and half of a Dyson vacuum cleaner. J has wanted a Dyson vacuum cleaner for as long as I've known her. I have been quite happy with the canister vacuum that I bought in graduate school, and didn't want to spend the big bucks for a new vacuum cleaner. Well, the canister vacuum had been relegated to one of the lower compartments in the RV which made it inconvenient to get, and J usually leaves the RV when I vacuum, so she probably really didn't like it. She went online to find a good price on a Dyson DC24 All Floors. Target had a good price, so we'll go pick one up tomorrow. I worked up a blog entry and did some computer work.
I had lunch around 12:20 of Genoa salami and Swiss on rye and continued doing computer work. We left around 2:50 in the Jeep to go ...
To SJ&DilK's (J's Son J and Daughter-in-law K's) for Christmas dinner. E&SilJ (that's J's daughter E and son-in-law J) were there already, and R (J's ex) pulled in behind us. G (DilK's mother) and JP (DilK's brother) arrived, and G brought some delicious spinach queso dip and chips. We exchanged presents, and it was a free-for-all madhouse — not like the orderly exchanges of my childhood.
We had dinner of prime rib and twice-baked potatoes that DilK made and green bean casserole that J made. It was tasty.
We visited some more and the kids played with their new toys. I enjoyed helping GS (granddaughter S, age 2.5) with her new watercolors, and then enjoyed sharing cuddles with GJ (grandson J, age 4) as he watched GA (grandson A, age 8) play his new Wii Sports Resort game.
We had dessert of pumpkin pie baked by E and apple pie baked by SilJ. I had the pumpkin, and J had the apple.
We returned to the RV around 8:00. I looked at some thermal underwear at Cabela's, and the bottoms I want to get Cabela's Tech Silk Weight Polartec® Power Dry Drawer - Tall or Cabela's Medium-Weight Polartec® Power Dry Drawer - Tall are both backordered. :( I wear these under my nylon hiking pants practically every day when it's cool, and lately the number of pairs I have has been a limiting factor for our laundry cycle.
