October 15, 2009, a Thursday
Parker (K), Colorado, USA
— Sat at The Majestic Gallery
Had my normal breakfast then loaded up the Jeep to with stuff to drop off at my storage unit and to take to The Majestic Gallery in Idaho Springs, Colorado. The Majestic Gallery is a co-op gallery, and each of the 30 members sits at the gallery once a month to "run the store." Because I had been away most of the summer, I had exchanged days to sit with other members, and I'll sit on three days in a row to make up for my time away. We had originally planned to take the RV up to Idaho Springs so I wouldn't have to commute, but J wanted to spend more time with the grandkids, so we left the RV in Parker today. I left at 9:35 in the Jeep.
I stopped at my storage unit for about five minutes to drop off some things and to pick up a box of framing/matting supplies that I had forgotten to pick up on my previous visit.
I got to The Majestic Gallery in Idaho Springs, Colorado, at 10:42 in plenty of time to open it up by 11:00 — the winter opening time. The gallery was already warm from having the sun shining on the large windows at the front of the historic Faivre Building — built in 1879. Idaho Springs' claim to fame is that it's where the Colorado gold rush began in 1859, and they're celebrating the 150th anniversary of the gold rush this year. I prepped some of my cards to display, then did some computer work. There are usually not too many visitors to the gallery which isn't too good for sales, but it's great for getting other work done. :)
Had Clif Bars for lunch, then did more computer work. I closed up the gallery and left at 5:12.
I stopped at Fazoli's (Italian fast food) near Park Meadows Mall at 6:05 to pick up some Twice-Baked Lasagna to take back to J.
I went to India's Clay Oven near Park Meadows Mall at 6:18 to get some Karahi Chicken and Garlic Naan to go for me. I love Indian food, but it doesn't agree with J's stomach, so we've worked out this arrangement where I pick up take-away that each of us enjoys.
I returned to the RV around 7:00, and we had dinner almost immediately. We both enjoyed it.
After dinner, I matted up the ten prints to take to The Majestic Gallery. Two of the images (below) will be new to the gallery. The bald eagle was photographed in Farmington Bay, Utah, in February 2009, and the Wings At Dusk was photographed in the Bisti Wilderness in New Mexico in March 2009.
