Wasilla (D&RA), Alaska, USA
— Laundry
Had my normal breakfast. J went inside to take a shower with "real" running water and to start some laundry. I worked up a blog entry. I left around 11:40 in the Jeep by myself.
I went to WalMart in Wasilla to pick up some Clif Bars to have for the trip back to the lower 48.
On the way back to D&RA's, I stopped to get the Jeep washed at a car wash. I splurged on an upgraded package so that the guy would pre-spray the Jeep by hand which would probably be necessary to get all of the accumulated dirt off of it. The Jeep looked great after getting it washed!
I returned to D&RA's around 12:40. J had started to install the Epson Artisan 800 printer/scanner while I was gone.
Had lunch around 12:50 of my regular ham and Swiss on rye with some Coca Cola Classic, followed by a banana and an apple. I started to do some laundry, then worked up another blog entry. After I transferred the laundry from the washer to the dryer, J helped me pack up our tent that we had left in the basement to dry. (Actually, we had hung it to dry, and then forgot about it until right before we were going to leave for Homer, so we just left it hanging in the basement while we were gone. Thanks D&RA!) J left to go grocery shopping and I stayed to finish my loads of laundry and to finish installing the Epson printer. J had done the basic printer setup, and I secured it to the desk using Super Lock and then tied up the wires. J returned from grocery shopping with a huge haul to prepare for our trip back to the lower 48. She wanted to load up on as much as possible so we wouldn't have to buy too much expensive food while we're in Canada.
We went inside around 5:55 to have dinner with D&RA. We had some tasty Merlot while visiting before dinner. Then we had spaghetti with some great homemade sauce, a tasty tossed salad, and some delicious antipasto. We moved to the living room after dinner, then had some chocolate cheesecake with chocolate sauce for dessert — mmm. We continued visiting, and Tootie, their golden retriever, was loving all of the attention I was giving her.
We went back to the RV around 9:40. I edited images from the second day of bear viewing before going to bed.
