August 16, 2009, a Sunday
Wasilla (D&RA), Alaska, USA
— Gray day, office work, and photographed mushrooms
It was raining lightly when I awoke. Had my normal breakfast then did some computer work. The rain stopped mid-morning and it started getting brighter.

Had lunch at 12:45 of cold leftover pizza from last night and it was very tasty. J hasn't developed a taste for cold pizza and thought my idea of a good lunch was utterly ridiculous. Processed images for a stock submission. (You may read more about stock submissions on August 7, 2009.) J went outside around 3:00 to photograph the amanita or fly agaric, a colorful mushroom, in D&RA's yard. I finally finished processing a set of images for a stock submission.

I went outside at 3:25 to photograph the fly agaric in D&RA's yard. I also discovered some very interesting Shield Parasol mushrooms too.

I came back inside around 4:20. I downloaded the images I took and edited them. Then I did a second round of editing images from our latest visit to Hatcher pass in Capture One.

We went out at 5:27 to photograph the birds at D's feeders because the light was nice and the birds had returned. We photographed a male hairy woodpecker, dark-eyed junco, and red-breasted nuthatch. The light started to fade due to clouds shortly after we went out, and I didn't get any good images.
We came back inside the RV at 6:10. As I was downloading the images I had just taken, I saw a downy woodpecker on a good perch absolutely motionless, and it stayed like that for at least a minute! Wish it had done that while we were out there!

We had dinner of leftover RA's pork chops and baked beans and some cut watermelon. I did the dishes because J's the leftover expert.

I processed some images and did some computer work.
