August 11, 2009, a Tuesday
Wasilla (D&RA), Alaska, USA
— Shopping in town and looked for a used Canon EOS 1Ds Mk III online
I awoke around midnight and started to think about some website work that I needed to do. The more I thought about it the more awake I got, so I got out of bed around 12:30 and completed the website work that had to be done. Then I did some other computer work because I was still awake. I went back to bed around 4:45.
I woke up around 8:40. The light was pretty good, so we decided to go photograph grebes before doing some shopping. I had my normal breakfast with the LavAzza coffee to go.
We checked out the grebes on Lake Lucille, and the conditions weren't good so we didn't photograph.
We went to WalMart to pick up a few things.
We went to Lowes so J could buy some pipe insulation so she can pad and wrap the full length of all three upper leg segments of her tripod. Right now, she only has two of the legs padded and wrapped and only for about the top 8 inches (20cm).
We went to Fred Meyers to do a small grocery shopping run. They had the Lock & Lock 1.3 qt storage cotainers for free with the "Purchase of Millstone Bulk or Millstone Pre-Packaged Coffee (10 oz and larger)", and J was able to get us four of them for free without buying any coffee! :) She wants to use some to store dry ingredients.
We returned to the RV around 12:15 and J put in some laundry. I had lunch and showered, then processed images for a stock submission. (You may read more about stock submissions on August 7, 2009.) While I was waiting for the large files to save, I looked for used Canon EOS 1Ds Mk IIIs online and found a few that looked really interesting. (I had looked a few weeks ago and didn't find any for sale.) It started raining around 3:55. I put the freshly-laundered sheets back on the bed. That task is a major pain in the neck, so we usually take turns.
D & RA came out to the RV around 5:25 to join us for dinner of J's Best Chicken Ever. That's the name of the recipe, and not a true indication of that particular dish. It's made of rice, cheese, chicken strips, and veggies and is baked. The dish was a little runny, probably because the rice didn't quite soak up as much liquid as it was supposed to. It tasted good though. The watermelon we picked up at Fred Meyers today was really sweat. The sun came out as we were eating.
D & RA went back inside around 7:10 and I did the dishes.
I went into the house around 7:40 to give D a quick Photoshop refresher course. Tootie, their golden retriever, was sad when I left.
I came back out to the RV and processed more images for a stock submission. I emailed the seller of a 1Ds Mk III to see if it was still available.

Sounds like Tootie needs to come over to the RV for a sleepover! |

Very funny ottmarrohe. :) Actually, we have a no-pets-inside-the-RV policy. While we both love furry pets (I especially like cats and J especially likes dogs), we don't like the additional hair that they'd shed --- we already shed enough. :) |

A very good policy to have. Not a day goes by that I don't dream about a fur-free apartment...we just purchased a Furminator for Marklar, and spent Sunday afternoon brushing her outside (and drinking beers) while she hunted squirrels. |
